Commercial Security Camera Installation with IP and PoE Cameras

A camera system is only as good as its coverage, its recordings and the network behind it. RHC plans camera placement around what you need to see, cables every camera on PoE, sets up recording and remote viewing, and keeps the cameras on their own network so they do not become a way in.

The challenges

  • Blind spots at entrances, loading docks and parking areas.
  • Footage that is too dark, too far or too blurry to identify anyone.
  • Recordings that are overwritten before anyone notices an incident.
  • Cameras with default passwords sitting on the same network as company laptops.
  • Several sites, each with its own system and its own app.

How we do it

  1. 1Site walk: what each area needs to show (overview, identification, license plates), lighting and mounting points.
  2. 2Design: camera models and lenses per location, recording platform, storage sized for the retention you need.
  3. 3Cabling: a dedicated cable to each camera, with outdoor-rated cable and weatherproof boxes where needed.
  4. 4Installation: cameras mounted and aimed, PoE switches and the recorder installed and racked.
  5. 5Configuration: recording schedules and motion rules, user accounts, camera network isolation and remote access.
  6. 6Handover: a walkthrough of live view, playback and exporting clips, plus a camera map.
